Life and work at the farm are always closely connected with family life and intertwined with mutual support of family members.
Due to their dedication and hard work, Žuža and Milan managed to expand their professional activity throughout the years. At the same time, they raised four children, who were taking part in the activities at the farm already while growing up. Today, their two sons and two daughters run the farm and the cheese dairy together with Žuža and Milan. Benjamin, Nikolaj, Katarina and Elizabeta have all found their career paths within the family business. They continue the household tradition with the support of dedicated co-workers.
For us, however, the word “family” has a much broader meaning. Our co-workers and friends, suppliers, customers and partners in business as well as private life have all left their mark on our family and have thus become a part of it.
History
The legacy of our ancestors is an invaluable gift and an inspiration for our future work.
The first known owner of Pustotnik farm is said to have taken part in the Tolmin Peasant Revolt in 1713. He was travelling through the Poljanska dolina valley on the way back home, when he met his future wife. The young couple was given a farm that had been abandoned for a long time without being claimed by any prospective successors (this kind of farm is called pustota in Slovenian) and the Poljane Valley became the owner’s new home… Since then, the generations and families owning the farm have changed several times, but the household name Pustotnik remains the same to this day.
