Aged Gouda Cheese

A period of aging, which lasts around a year, gives aged Gouda cheese a piquant, prominent taste and a hard, brittle texture.

Due to moisture loss during the ageing process, the otherwise soft structure of Gouda cheese becomes harder and drier every month, while the rind acquires its characteristic yellowish-brown colour. A slightly salty and noticeably piquant taste complements a pleasantly clean and rich aroma.
