Prekmuski sireki, a dairy product indigenous to Slovenia, surprise with their prominent taste and a pleasantly smoked aroma.
Prekmurski sireki are made from small-curd cottage cheese, seasoned with a mixture of ground paprika, onion and other spices. Traditionally, they are shaped in upright cones and smoked when still fresh. After smoking, the cones are air-dried for a few days, which makes their texture drier and harder.
